A Pendulum appliance is a fixed orthodontic appliance that can move the upper molars backward. An orthodontist may recommend it for certain bite or spacing concerns as part of an individual treatment plan.
How It Works
The appliance stays in place inside the mouth and uses a spring mechanism to apply pressure to the upper molars. Because it is fixed, you do not remove it or manage a daily wear schedule. Whether it is appropriate, how long it is used, and what treatment follows depend on the orthodontist's evaluation.
Care and Follow-Up
Keep the appliance clean by brushing carefully around it, and follow the instructions provided by your orthodontist. Attend scheduled visits so the team can monitor your progress. If the appliance becomes loose, damaged, or persistently uncomfortable, contact the office for guidance rather than trying to adjust it yourself.
